Our Dental Assisting Programs

Each of our dental assistant programs are designed to best prepare students to work in dental offices. WRD Dental Assisting equips you with the appropriate skills needed to excel in the dental field. The instructors for our programs are experienced dental professionals who are passionate about the success of each student.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Hands-on training that teaches students chair-side manners and expanded skills.

EXPANDED FUNCTIONS DENTAL ASSISTANT

 Expanded Function Dental Assistants operate under the supervision of a Dentist.

CORONAL POLISHING & FLUORIDE

 Learn the technique that removes plaque and stain from coronal surfaces of the teeth.

CURRICULUM & DETAILS

 WRD Dental Assisting School prepares students for entry-level positions as a chairside assistant in a dental office. The dental assistant training program is a course designed to teach the students the skills and knowledge necessary to assist dentists and hygienists in all chairside procedures. WRD Dental Assisting School covers the following topics:

  • Dental Terminology
  • Anatomy & Physiology
  • Radiology
  • Sterilization & Infection Control
  • Laboratory Practices
  • Preventative Medicine
  • Oral Hygiene
  • Pharmacology & Medical Emergencies
  • Restorative Dentistry

Extbooks & Reading

Students are required to either purchase or rent the necessary textbooks for the course. You may purchase your textbooks from WRD Dental Assisting, Amazon, the publisher site, or elsewhere as long as it is the same edition as listed below. If you choose to purchase through WRD Dental Assisting, you will receive 25% off.

Externship

WRD Dental Assisting students are required to complete a 300-hour externship program. The externship program will give students the opportunity to have practical, on-the-job experience. Externs will work under direct supervision of qualified personnel at the externship site and under general supervision of the WRD Dental Assisting faculty. Dental assistant students must complete their externship training to fulfill course requirements.
